We're finally seeing the end of the GPU shortage

The thought of finding an affordable graphics card in today's ever-fluctuating market feels almost impossible, but it would seem that prices for highly-coveted GPUs are finally starting to recover in some areas of the world, to the point where some new cards have been spotted for under their original MSRP.  Mindfactory, a trusted tech retailer based in Germany, posted a page full of deals this past weekend that included a handful of AMD Radeon 6500 XT cards from third-party manufacturers.  Both the ASRock Radeon RX 6500XT Challenger ITX and the Gigabyte Radeon RX 6500 XT Eagle were available at €199 (around $225 / £165 / AU$310) when originally published, but Tom's Hardware notes in its own coverage that the Gigabyte model has since increased to €229 (around $255 / £190 / AU$355).  For context, the MSRP for the reference AMD Radeon 6500 XT in Germany is €209 (around $235 / £175 / AU$325), though it's not a GPU we would recommend as an 'upgrade' unless you have some...

This new e-bike is so powerful, it had to be engineered to stop ripping itself apart

Canadian e-bike company Biktrix has unveiled a new e-bike with its most powerful motor to date. The Juggernaut XD features the Biktrix XD Dual Drive System, which is specially designed to handle the forces of a 2,000W motor without ripping itself to pieces. As Electrek reports, most e-bikes rely on regular bicycle parts to transfer power from the motor to the back wheel. That can result in faster wear and tear, including broken chains and wrecked derailleurs, which will put an end to your fun pretty swiftly. Even in the best circumstances, e-bikes typically need components replacing more frequently than conventional bikes – even if you don't notice it. As Shimano's head of training Julian Thrasher told TechRadar in an interview last year, the bike's motor can work harder to compensate for a worn drivetrain, meaning you can't tell the difference, but the battery will run down faster. If the wear becomes severe and the chain jumps, you could be thrown from ...

These are the 10 biggest TV shows on Netflix right now

In November 2021, Netflix announced that it would be publishing a weekly list detailing its most popular TV shows over a seven-day period – and it's proven a great way to gauge what the world is watching at any given time.  Ranking titles based on weekly hours viewed – i.e. the total number of hours subscribers globally watched each title between Monday and Sunday of the previous week – Netflix regularly shares four separate lists; two for movies (English and Non-English) and two for TV shows (English and Non-English).   It's also worth noting that the streamer considers each season of a given series as standalone entities, so you might see two of seasons of the best Netflix shows make the cut in the same week. That is, if they're popular enough, of course.  Below, we’ve rounded up the 10 most popular English-speaking TV shows on the streamer this past week. We've also collated the biggest Netflix movies, too, if you're interested in checking out the best ...

This new gaming phone has better specs than the iPhone 13 at a much lower price

Hot on the heels of its launch in China, the Nubia Red Magic 7 has now been announced for the rest of the world, revealing its price and availability in the process. This cutting-edge gaming phone will be available to order from March 10 on the official Red Magic website, where it will start at just $629 / £529 (around AU$870). That’s for a version in a design called Obsidian, which is a black shade inspired by volcanic glass, and which comes with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Then there’s a Pulsar model, which sports a gradient design apparently inspired by a flashing neutron star, and comes with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. That one costs $729 / £619 (roughly AU$1,010). Finally, there’s a Supernova model, which has a transparent back, 18GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This costs $799 / £679 (approximately AU$1,105). There’s no word on Australian pricing here, but the Red Magic 7 is confirmed to be landing there too. https://www.bbuzzart.com/profile/427114 http...

UK government wants to move forward with implementing Huawei 5G ban

The government has launched a formal consultation on the legal instruments that will implement the ban on Huawei 5G equipment in the UK. Mobile operators have been invited to submit their views on the legal instruments that will implement the ban on the use of Huawei 5G equipment in their networks as part of a consultation. In July 2021, the government reversed its previous policy and confirmed all mobile operators would be forbidden from purchasing new Huawei 5G radio gear from 2021 and must remove all equipment installed in their 5G networks by 2027. Huawei UK The Telecommunications (Security) Act has since become law and the legal instruments are the next stage in the process. These instruments will include requirements that operators will need to follow with regard to the use of Huawei equipment as well as a notice that designates Huawei as a high-risk vendor. The consultation also includes proposed measures that would prevent fixed broadband operators from using ...
